OilKiller is a catamaran work-boat
for the cleaning and maintenance of water surfaces from oil films;
to collect and store floating plastics and garbages;
to collect biological and chemical data about water healthiness;
to filter and collect microparticles in order to measure their statistical presence;
to oxygenate the water surface and encourage its revitalization.

OilKiller is a useful and absolutely necessary device in marinas, ports, rivers, lakes etc.

cleaning and maintenance from oil films

This function is obtained by using the TJP patented device FLOC.
FLOC is a flexible collector to intercept the water surface and drive the flow to the stern shrinking its area.
The flow is then dissected by a second smaller FLOC and the upper fraction of water is forced to pass throgh the the second TJP patented device Filter-Box. In the Filter-Box is guested a plurality of oleophilic elements that capture the oily spots by the contact.
The water mass that didn't pass through the Filter-Box is immediatly reliased and the cleaned water as well from the Filter-Box.

collect and store floating plastics and garbages

This function is obtained by installing the Sieve-Box in place of the Filter-Box.
The size of the sieving nets defines the minimum size of the floating objects to retain. No water amount is collected.

collect biological and chemical data about water healthiness

This function is obtained by installing a control unit for chemical and biological analysis of water.
The control unit can be configured with different sensors in order to collect the interested chemical dimensions.
A cloud digital store and the related software make the database storeble and consultable.

collect and store microparticles

This function is obtained by installing a net designed for sampling plankton and microplastics in the first centimeters of the water column.
The size of the microporosity defines the minimum size of the objects to retain. No water amount is collected.

oxygenate the water surface

This function is obtained by installing a system that provides the spraying of oxygenated gas from a plurality of nozzles distributed on a wide support.

OilKiller prototype

The OilKiller prototype is moored in the Alto Adriatico Shipyard, in Monfalcone, Italy.
It has been used, and still is used, to test the OilKiller's performances and functions.
The prototype is at disposal for tests and demonstration back to a simple request.

The Jonathan Project SRL

The Jonathan Project is born on the emotional wave of the Macondo blowout in the Gulf of Mexico and the Lombarda Petroli oil spill into the river Lambro. The "philosophical" thought's stream of TJP has gradually been defined as a result of the commitment and use of time and brain in the analysis of both the causes of environmental misfortunes and the methods of prevention and intervention aimed at reducing both harmful events and its damage when they anyway occur.
Prevention is closely linked to human behavior and is certainly to be delegated to politics as well as to the definition of environmetal's friendly social models and to a correct planning of urban and industrial development if it is true as it is true (NOAA data) that about 87% of the pollution of rivers, lakes and seas comes from civil, agricultural and industrial discharges into the sewers and into the air.
Prevention must avoid "the body" of the environment from becoming ill or injured but when this anyway happens then it is necessary that clinicians and hospitals take care of the "body" regardless of the causes of the damage.
These activities must be effective but also economically sustainable and easily achievable. Inventions and gigantic projects, pretentious panacea of all evils, are often so expensive and difficult to put in place that they totally aren't applicable in contingents situations and therefore useless for the immediate purpose though they could be useful for understanding and developing future philosophies and technologies. In the mean time a large amount of money, intelligences, knowledge and skills are spent.
So we took the following mind's path: look what there is to do; think about how to do it in a simple way, feasible in a short time and economically sustainable; think of methods, intervention models that involve all the operational phases, from how to reach the reclamation area to how to discharge pollutants to landfills; use everything that already exists and that you can use at any stage of the project, there is no need to reinvent hot water; seeks a model of operations whose cost can be fragmented and subdivided among various players, including benefactors, tycoons and large companies, who can have a significant image return as well as a recognition of their environmental care; always keep in mind the workers who must practically carry out all the operations and take care of their work places; accepts the fact that 100% of the dirt cannot be cleaned but every small quantity of pollution removed from the environment coincides with a small reduction in the process of poisoning the environment itself, in one sentence "better done than perfect"; keep in mind that after the first highly emotional moments there remain long periods of activity to be performed to effectively reduce the damage.
The social object of TJP is dedicated to R&D of "things" useful to men and the environment, effective but also and above all economically sustainable.
